Upholstery Cleaning in Bedford
A sofa bed is two pieces of furniture in one and the mechanism is the part that catches people out. The mattress inside is thin, it lives folded in the dark, and it only comes out when somebody stays. That combination holds damp, so a sofa bed wants cleaning with less water than a plain settee and opening up afterwards to dry.
We open it before we start, so there are no surprises underneath, and we keep the frame and the hinges dry. The inner mattress is cleaned as a mattress, from £25, and the sofa itself at the usual rate for its size. Leave it open for a few hours afterwards rather than folding a damp mattress back into a dark box.
Bedford has a lot of houses that use a sofa bed as a spare room, especially the terraces around Queen's Park and Cauldwell where the third bedroom is small or already spoken for. A three-seater sofa bed with its mattress comes to £105 at our prices. There is no travel charge across MK40, MK41 or MK42.

Bedford questions
The things people in Bedford ask us most often.
Can the mattress inside a sofa bed be cleaned?
Yes, and it usually needs it more than the sofa does. It is thin, it lives folded away in the dark and it comes out damp from whoever last slept on it. We clean it as a mattress, from £25, and dry it open.
How much for a three-seater sofa bed?
£80 for the sofa and from £25 for the mattress inside it, so £105 for the two. That clears the minimum charge on its own. An armchair at £35 in the same visit takes it to £140.
Will cleaning it affect the folding mechanism?
Not if the water is kept off it. We open the bed first, work with the metalwork and the hinges dry, and extract rather than soak. Damp left in a frame is what makes a mechanism stiff, so it is dried before it is folded.
Is the whole of Bedford covered?
MK40, MK41 and MK42, including Queen's Park, Putnoe, Goldington, Brickhill, Cauldwell, De Parys, Harpur and Elstow, plus Kempston next door. The same price list applies in all of them, with no travel charge and no call-out fee.
