Carpet Cleaning in Cambridge
Merlin's Carpet Cleaning covers Cambridge and the villages around it — terraced rentals, college-area conversions and family houses out towards Trumpington. We are family run with over ten years behind us, our prices are the ones on the list with nothing added afterwards, and every quote is free.
Cleaning carpets in Cambridge
Cambridge is mostly rented, and a lot of it is rented in flats. Victorian terraces through Petersfield and Romsey Town divided into two and three, purpose-built blocks around the station and Chesterton, and conversions all through Newnham and the streets near the colleges. Family houses too, out at Trumpington, Cherry Hinton and Girton. The access question comes up constantly.
So here is how it works. Everything runs from the van - the machine stays outside and we bring hoses in to the property. Three floors up is routine, a lift is a help rather than a requirement, and we have worked up plenty of narrow conversion staircases. What we need is somewhere to park within a sensible hose run of the front door.
Out on the terraced streets that often means a few doors down, and there is no extra charge for it. If your block has a loading bay, a permit scheme or a controlled entrance, mention it when you book so that we arrive already knowing. It saves half an hour of standing about and it is the one thing we cannot sort out on the day.

Cambridge questions
The things people in Cambridge ask us most often.
I am on the third floor with no lift - can you still clean?
Yes. The machine stays in the van and only the hoses come up the stairs, which we do regularly in Cambridge conversions. There is no extra charge for the floor you happen to be on.
There is nowhere to park outside my flat - is that a problem?
Rarely. We work from wherever the van can stop within a reasonable hose run, often a street away. Tell us about permit zones or a barrier when you book and we will plan around it.
Which Cambridge postcodes are you in?
CB1, CB2, CB3 and CB4 - Romsey Town, Petersfield, Chesterton, Arbury, Newnham, Trumpington, Cherry Hinton and Girton, plus Histon and Fen Ditton on the edge. No travel charge within any of them.
How much for a one-bedroom flat throughout?
A lounge at £40 and a bedroom at £30 is £70, plus a hall at £20 if it has one. Small flats often land on the £50 minimum, so it is worth adding a rug or a mattress at £25 each.
