Carpet Cleaning in Bracknell
Merlin's Carpet Cleaning covers Bracknell and the villages around it — planned new-town neighbourhoods and 1960s to 1980s family housing. We are family run with over ten years behind us, our prices are the ones on the list with nothing added afterwards, and every quote is free.
Cleaning carpets in Bracknell
Bracknell was built as a planned town and it still reads that way on the ground - Easthampstead, Priestwood, Bullbrook, Great Hollands, Harmans Water and Birch Hill each laid out as their own neighbourhood, mostly between the 1960s and the 1980s, with the town centre largely rebuilt in the last fifteen years. The housing is consistent in a way that older towns never are.
Carpet in a house of that age has usually been replaced two or three times, so what we meet is rarely original - it is a mid-range synthetic laid over an underlay that may well be a good deal older than the carpet sitting on it. Tired underlay is worth knowing about, because it changes how a floor feels underfoot long after the pile itself has been cleaned.
The other thing we get called about here is a mark that keeps coming back. That is usually wicking. A spill soaked through to the backing, and as the carpet dries the moisture travels upwards again and brings the stain back with it. It is not a failed clean - it means the source was deeper than the surface, and it needs treating there.

Bracknell questions
The things people in Bracknell ask us most often.
A stain keeps reappearing a day or two after cleaning - why?
Wicking. The original spill went through to the backing, and as the carpet dries the moisture rises and carries it back up to the surface. It needs treating at depth rather than on top, and sometimes a second pass.
Do you cover all the Bracknell neighbourhoods?
Yes - Easthampstead, Priestwood, Bullbrook, Great Hollands, Harmans Water, Crown Wood, Birch Hill and Martins Heron, across RG12 and RG42, plus Binfield and Warfield. No travel charge on any of it.
Can old underlay be cleaned as well?
Not directly, and it should not need to be. If underlay has gone soft or started to smell after a leak, cleaning the carpet on top will not fix that. We will tell you if we think it is what you are dealing with.
What does it cost to do a three bedroom house through?
A lounge, hall, stairs, landing and three bedrooms comes to £205. Swap one bedroom for a dining room and it is £210. You get a firm figure on the phone rather than a range that moves.
