Carpet Cleaning in Shildon
Merlin's Carpet Cleaning covers Shildon and the villages around it — the cradle of the railways, and terraces that have earned a deep clean. We are family run with over ten years behind us, our prices are the ones on the list with nothing added afterwards, and every quote is free.
Cleaning carpets in Shildon
Shildon calls itself the cradle of the railways and the town was built around that — rows of railway housing, solid terraces, the Locomotion museum sitting in the middle of it. The carpets we clean here are mostly in those terraces and in the post-war estates that grew up beside them.
Terraced work is efficient work. Rooms are a sensible size, the runs are short, and a hall, stairs and landing plus a lounge is a straightforward visit that comes in around £115 on our standard list.
We are in Shildon, Middridge, Eldon and Close House regularly on the way between Newton Aycliffe and Bishop Auckland, so there is a decent chance we can fit you in quickly.

Shildon questions
The things people in Shildon ask us most often.
How much to do the whole downstairs of a terrace in Shildon?
Lounge from £40, dining room from £35 and hall at £20 comes to £95. Add stairs at £35 and the landing at £20 and you are at £150 for the lot. We will confirm the exact figure when we know your rooms.
Can you get to us quickly?
Often, yes. We are between Newton Aycliffe and Bishop Auckland most weeks, so Shildon is easy for us to slot in. Ring 0800 001 6757 and we will tell you what we have.
Do you clean dining chairs?
Yes. Seat only is £10 per chair and seat and back is £15 per chair. A set of six seat-only chairs is £60, which clears the £50 minimum on its own.
What if a stain does not come out?
We will tell you before we start if we think something is unlikely to shift — bleach, dye transfer from a rubber-backed mat, some old pet accidents. We would rather set your expectations honestly than surprise you at the end.
