Cleaning carpets in Banbury
Banbury grew outwards in rings and you can read every one of them in the housing. The older streets sit close to the Oxford Canal and the Cherwell, then come the large post-war estates at Ruscote, Bretch Hill and Easington, and then the newer development at Hanwell Fields on the northern edge. Three generations of carpet in one town.
Properties close to the canal hold more moisture in the air than the ones further up the hill, and that affects drying rather than cleaning. The answer is ventilation and not heat - internal doors open, an extractor fan running, and a couple of extra dry passes from us. Two to four hours to touch dry is still the normal figure.
On the estates the work is mostly halls, stairs and landings. It is the part of a family house nobody can avoid walking on, it catches the soil that comes in off the pavement, and doing it makes more visible difference than any single room in the house. £75 for the three together, and it is what we are asked for most often here.

Does being near the canal change how long drying takes?
A little. Air near the water holds more moisture, so we make extra dry passes and ask you to leave doors open with a fan running. The timing is much the same - two to four hours before you walk on it in socks.
Do you go out to the villages around Banbury?
Yes - Bodicote, Adderbury, Bloxham, Middleton Cheney and the rest of OX15 and OX17 as well as the town itself. No travel charge and no call-out fee, wherever you happen to be in that area.
We have a long landing in a 1960s estate house - how is that priced?
A landing is £20 however far it runs. If it opens onto a second flight or a boxed-in stairwell we will say so when we quote, but on a standard estate house it is the one flat price.
Can you do anything about a worn patch at the top of the stairs?
We can clean it and it will look better. What cleaning cannot do is put pile back where it has worn away - that is physical loss rather than dirt. We will tell you honestly which of the two you are looking at.
