Cleaning carpets in Great Barford
Great Barford sits on the Great Ouse with the old packhorse bridge at its heart, and a good number of the houses here are close enough to the river to notice it. That matters for carpet cleaning in one specific way: drying.
Riverside air carries more moisture, and a carpet dries by evaporating into the air around it. If that air is already damp, evaporation slows down. The answer is not more heat - it is more air movement. We make extra dry passes on every job here and we will tell you exactly what to leave open and for how long.
Beyond that it is lovely work. Village houses, a lot of wool, a lot of rugs, and owners who have generally looked after things and just want them freshened rather than rescued.

Great Barford questions
The things people in Great Barford ask us most often.
Will the carpet dry properly this close to the river?
Yes, with a bit of ventilation. Two to four hours to touch dry is still normal. Leave internal doors open and run an extractor fan - air movement matters far more than turning the heating up.
Do you cover the villages along the Ouse?
Yes - Great Barford, Blunham, Roxton, Willington, Renhold, Wilden and the rest of the MK44 area, with no travel charge.
Can you clean wool rugs in the home?
Usually. We test the dyes in a hidden corner first, then clean with controlled moisture and dry carefully. Rugs are from £25, and if we think one needs specialist immersion washing we will tell you rather than risk it.
Do you take rugs away to clean them?
Not as a rule. Almost everything cleans well in the home, which is faster for you and means nothing goes missing. The exception is a genuinely delicate or antique rug, and in that case we would point you to a specialist rather than take it on ourselves.
