Cleaning carpets in Wargrave
Wargrave sits on the Thames where the Loddon comes in, and the river is the practical fact of life for floors here. Air close to the water carries more moisture than air half a mile inland, and that shows up in drying times rather than in the cleaning itself. The carpet comes up exactly the same. It simply wants more air moving through the house afterwards, and we plan the visit around that.
Our usual figure of two to four hours to touch dry still holds in the village, but we make extra dry passes here and ask for internal doors left open and an extractor fan running while we work. If there is a still, closed-up room at the back of the house with one small window, that is the one to open up first and the one we will be most honest with you about.
Much of the older property along the valley has a suite in the lounge that has never been cleaned in its life, and fabric holds body oils and soil in exactly the way carpet does. A two-seater is £50, a three-seater £80 and an armchair £35, so a suite done alongside the floor is usually the sensible visit. We check the fabric code and a hidden seam before anything wet goes near it.

Wargrave questions
The things people in Wargrave ask us most often.
Do you cover Wargrave and the villages up the valley?
Yes - Wargrave, Remenham, Crazies Hill, Hare Hatch, Kiln Green, Knowl Hill and Ruscombe, along with Twyford and Shiplake across the water. All of it is inside our normal area and there is no travel charge on any of it.
Will a house near the river take longer to dry?
A little. Two to four hours to touch dry is still the normal figure, but air near the Thames carries more moisture, so we make extra dry passes and ask for doors open and an extractor fan going. Fully dry is usually the same evening.
How much to clean a three-piece suite?
A three-seater is £80, a two-seater £50 and an armchair £35, so a standard three-piece comes to £165. We check the fabric and a hidden seam first and will say if a piece wants a low-moisture method instead of extraction.
Can you do a footstool and some dining chairs at the same time?
Yes. A footstool is £25, a dining chair seat only is £10 and a seat with a back is £15. Small pieces are best added to a larger visit, since the £50 minimum applies to the visit rather than to each item.
