Mattress Cleaning in Bedford
A spare bed is the one most worth cleaning and the last one anybody thinks of. Standing unused in a cool room, a mattress takes up damp from the air, and with nobody turning the covers or opening the window it stays in it. That is what makes a guest bed smell shut away even when it has barely been slept on.
Cleaning one is straightforward and the drying matters more than the cleaning. We extract hard, leave it standing where the air can get to both faces if there is room, and tell you when it is safe to make up. A spare room with the door shut and the radiator off is the slowest place in the house to dry anything.
Bedford has a lot of three and four bedroom family housing out at Putnoe, Brickhill and Goldington, and in most of those houses one bedroom is a spare. Mattresses are from £25 each, so doing the spare and the main bed together is £50 and meets the minimum charge. A bedroom carpet from £30 in the same visit makes it £80.

Bedford questions
The things people in Bedford ask us most often.
Why does the spare bed smell musty when nobody uses it?
Because it has been taking damp out of the air for months with no airflow to carry it away. Cleaning deals with the soil, and drying it properly with the window open deals with the smell. Leaving the door shut afterwards undoes both.
How long before I can make the bed up again?
Give it the rest of the day with air moving in the room. We extract most of the moisture before we leave and will tell you how damp it still feels. Making up a bed that is not dry is how a clean mattress ends up smelling worse.
Is it worth cleaning a mattress in a room we barely use?
Often more worth it than the one you sleep in, because nothing in that room gets aired. Two mattresses together is £50, which is the minimum charge for a visit, so the spare bed rarely costs anything extra to add.
Do you cover the Bedford villages as well as the town?
Yes. Kempston, Biddenham, Bromham, Wixams and Elstow are all in our normal area, along with the whole of MK40, MK41 and MK42. There is no travel charge and no call-out fee.
