Mattress Cleaning in Durham
A deep sanitising clean for the mattress you sleep on every night, done in your own bedroom in Durham. Family run, over ten years in the trade, with no travel charge and no call-out fee. We cover DH1, DH6 and DH7 and the area around it.
Mattress Cleaning in Durham
The clean matters less than what happens in the four hours afterwards. A mattress comes out of the machine damp, and if a sheet and a duvet go straight back over it the moisture has nowhere to go. That is how a bed that was cleaned properly ends up smelling worse than it did before anybody touched it.
So we leave the bed stripped with the window open and tell you when to make it up. If the room is cold and north-facing, which a great many Durham bedrooms are, give it longer than you think. Standing the mattress on its edge for an hour gets air to both faces and halves the wait in a cold room.
Between the student lets in the city and the family housing out at Newton Hall, Belmont and Bowburn, mattresses are a steady part of our week here. They are from £25 whatever the size, so four beds in a let is £100 in one visit, and we will give the landlord a dated receipt for the file.

Durham questions
The things people in Durham ask us most often.
When can the bed be made up after cleaning?
Once it feels dry to the back of your hand rather than cool, which is normally the same evening. Put the bedding back over a damp mattress and the moisture is trapped, which is the one way to make a clean bed smell worse.
How do I dry a mattress in a cold bedroom?
Open the window rather than turning the radiator up, and stand the mattress on its edge for an hour so air reaches both faces. Cold north-facing rooms are the slow ones, and a closed door is what holds the damp in.
Do you do the beds in student houses over the summer?
That is the busiest part of our Durham summer. Four mattresses is £100 in a single visit, quoted together, with one dated receipt for the landlord or agent. Give us the room count and the changeover date when you book.
Which Durham areas do you cover for mattress cleaning?
DH1, DH6 and DH7, including Gilesgate, Belmont, Newton Hall, Framwellgate Moor, Nevilles Cross, Bowburn, Ushaw Moor and Shincliffe. There is no travel charge to any of them and no call-out fee.
