Carpet Cleaning in Taplow
Merlin's Carpet Cleaning covers Taplow and the villages around it — large houses with generous rooms and a good deal of upholstery. We are family run with over ten years behind us, our prices are the ones on the list with nothing added afterwards, and every quote is free.
Cleaning carpets in Taplow
Taplow sits above the Thames on the Buckinghamshire side, looking across at Maidenhead, and the housing here runs large. There are substantial detached houses along the lanes, older village property near the church, and ordinary family homes down towards Lent Rise and the Burnham end. Generous room sizes are the common thread, and a generous room needs a different conversation about price.
Our room prices assume an ordinary room. A lounge is from £40 and a dining room from £35, and for most houses that is exactly the figure. Where a room is genuinely large, or where two have been opened into one, we quote on the floor area instead and say so on the phone. What we will not do is agree a price and then find a reason to raise it once the machine is running.
Upholstery goes with the territory here. A three-seater is £80, a two-seater £50, an armchair £35, a cuddle chair £45 and a footstool £25, with larger suites at £105 for a four-seater and upwards from there. Dining chairs are £10 for the seat alone and £15 for seat and back, which is usually the cheapest improvement you can make to a room.

Taplow questions
The things people in Taplow ask us most often.
What happens if a room is much bigger than average?
On the floor area rather than the room name. The from-£40 lounge price covers an ordinary room, and anything well beyond that gets a figure of its own. Either way you have the number before we start, not afterwards.
Can you clean a set of dining chairs?
Yes - £10 each for the seat pad alone and £15 for seat and back. Six chairs comes to £60 or £90 depending on which, and it lifts a dining room more than most people expect it to.
Do you cover Taplow, Dorney and Hitcham?
Yes, along with Dorney Reach, Lent Rise, Burnham, Bray and the Maidenhead side of the river. All within our normal working area, with no travel charge and no call-out fee.
Is fabric upholstery cleaned the same way as carpet?
Same principle, gentler execution. Upholstery fabric is thinner, the dyes are less forgiving and the frame underneath has to stay dry, so we use a hand tool, less moisture and a slower pass across it.
