Cleaning carpets in Warfield
Warfield has been built out steadily north of Bracknell - Whitegrove, Brock Hill, Hayley Green and the estates around Newell Green - and a great deal of it is three storeys. Where land is tight, houses go up instead of out, and a three-storey house means two flights of stairs and two landings rather than one of each. That changes both the wear and the price.
Stairs take the hardest wear in any house, and they take it in one specific place. The nose of each tread carries almost all of the footfall, which is why a staircase can look worn out while the landing beside it still looks new. It is grit sitting in that front edge doing the cutting, and getting it out is the whole point of the exercise.
We clean stairs by hand with a small tool, tread by tread, including the risers and the edges either side. A flight is £35 and a landing £20, so a three-storey house with two flights and two landings comes to £110 for the stairs alone. Most people add the hall at £20 and have the whole vertical route through the house done in one go.

Warfield questions
The things people in Warfield ask us most often.
What is the price for a three-storey house staircase?
£110 - that is £35 a flight and £20 a landing. Add the hall at £20 and the whole route through a three-storey house is £130. That is the figure rather than a starting point.
Why do the stair edges look worse than the treads?
Because the nose of each tread takes nearly all the footfall. Grit collects in that front edge and cuts the fibre with every step. Cleaning it regularly is the difference between a carpet lasting and a carpet going bald.
Do you clean the risers as well as the treads?
Yes, and the edges either side of them. Stairs are hand work with a small tool rather than a wand, which is the only way to get properly into the angle where a tread meets its riser.
Which parts of Warfield do you come to?
All of it - Whitegrove, Brock Hill, Hayley Green, Moss End, Newell Green, Winkfield and Winkfield Row, plus Bracknell and Binfield next door. There is no travel charge on any RG42 address and no call-out fee.
