Carpet Cleaning in Wokingham
Merlin's Carpet Cleaning covers Wokingham and the villages around it — period town-centre property and a great deal of newer housing around it. We are family run with over ten years behind us, our prices are the ones on the list with nothing added afterwards, and every quote is free.
Cleaning carpets in Wokingham
Wokingham has a genuine old centre with period property behind it and a very large amount of newer housing spreading out on every side of that. We get both kinds of call here, but the one that comes up more often in this town than anywhere else we cover is upholstery - a suite that has been sitting in the same room for fifteen years and has never once been cleaned.
Fabric holds body oils, hair and soil in precisely the way carpet does, and it shows up first on the arms and the headrests. A dining chair seat is £10, a seat and back together is £15, an armchair £35, a two-seater £50, a three-seater £80 and a footstool £25. Larger suites run to £105 for a four-seater, £130 for a five and £150 for a six.
Every piece gets checked before anything wet goes near it - the manufacturer's cleaning code where there is still a label, the fabric itself, and a hidden section round the back or underneath the cushions. Some fabrics want a low-moisture method rather than full extraction, and a few should not be cleaned wet at all. We would far rather tell you that than discover it on the front of the sofa.

Wokingham questions
The things people in Wokingham ask us most often.
How much does it cost to clean a sofa?
A two-seater is £50, a three-seater £80, a four-seater £105, a five-seater £130 and a six-seater £150. An armchair is £35 and a cuddle chair £45. We check the fabric before anything wet goes on it.
Can every fabric be wet cleaned?
Not every one. Some want a low-moisture method and a few should not be cleaned wet at all. We look at the maker's cleaning code where a label survives and test a hidden section underneath or round the back first.
Where does a sofa get dirtiest?
The arms and the headrests, because that is where skin and hair are in contact with it. Those areas darken while the cushions still look presentable, which is usually the thing that makes people ring.
Are both Wokingham postcodes covered?
Yes, RG40 and RG41 both - the town centre, Emmbrook, Woosehill, Matthewsgreen, Keephatch and Barkham, and out towards Finchampstead and Winnersh. Nothing at all is charged for travel.
