Cleaning carpets in Reading

Reading is much the biggest place we cover and it is really several towns inside one boundary. Long Victorian terraces through Newtown and the Oxford Road end, solid inter-war housing further out at Southcote and Whitley, modern flats around the station, and a private rental sector that runs through every one of those. Very little of it has off-street parking, and that shapes our day more than anything else.

Everything runs from the van, so the practical question is never whether there is a space directly outside your door - it is whether we can get within a sensible hose run of it. On a terraced street that often means a few doors down or round the corner, and on a flat it means a length of hose up the stairwell. Neither of those costs anything extra.

Flats bring their own details worth sorting out in advance. Lifts, fire doors that will not stay propped, and neighbours underneath who would rather not hear a machine at eight in the morning. Tell us the floor and how the access works when you book and we will bring the right hose length and pick a sensible hour. A second-floor flat is no harder than a house, it just wants planning.

✦ Good to know

Reading questions

The things people in Reading ask us most often.

Do you cover all the Reading postcodes?

We work across RG1, RG2 and RG30, including Newtown, the Oxford Road area, Coley, Katesgrove, Southcote and Whitley, along with Caversham and Earley next door. There is no travel charge anywhere in the town.

There is nowhere to park outside my terrace - is that a problem?

Rarely. Everything runs from the van, so we only need to get within a sensible hose run. A few doors down or round the corner is normal on a terraced street and it costs nothing extra.

Can you clean a carpet in a second-floor flat?

Yes. We run hose up the stairwell and work from the van. Tell us the floor, whether there is a lift and how the fire doors behave, and we will bring the right length and pick a sensible hour.

How much for a two-bedroom flat?

A lounge, hall and two bedrooms comes to £120 at our standard prices. Smaller flats often land near the £50 minimum, so it is worth adding a rug at £25 or a mattress at £25 to the same visit.
