Cleaning carpets in Clifton
Clifton is a quiet village between Shefford and Henlow with a mixture of old cottages, post-war housing and newer infill. Most of what we do here is straightforward domestic work, and a good deal of it is the same two rooms: the lounge and the stairs.
There is a reason for that. Stairs take roughly three times the footfall of a bedroom and they are the fiddliest part of a house to clean, so they are the bit that gets skipped by everyone including the previous cleaner. We do them by hand with a small tool, tread by tread, including the risers where the soil actually collects.
If you only ever have one thing cleaned, make it the hall, stairs and landing. It is £75 for all three and it changes how the whole house feels.

Clifton questions
The things people in Clifton ask us most often.
Can I just have the stairs done?
You can, though the £50 minimum charge means most people add the hall at £20 and the landing at £20 to make it worthwhile. Stairs on their own are £35.
Do you cover Clifton itself or just the bigger towns?
Clifton is in our normal area with no travel charge, along with Shefford, Henlow, Stondon and the villages around them.
How long do stairs take?
A standard flight takes about as long as a bedroom, so allow around forty minutes with the pre-treatment and the drying passes. Doing them properly is slow work and it shows in the result.
Is there anything I should do before you arrive?
Vacuum if you can and move the small things - lamps, toys, the bits at the bottom of the stairs. We will handle everything else and work around the furniture.
