Carpet Cleaning in Watford
Merlin's Carpet Cleaning covers Watford and the villages around it — terraces, 1930s semis, flats and a very large private rental sector. We are family run with over ten years behind us, our prices are the ones on the list with nothing added afterwards, and every quote is free.

Cleaning carpets in Watford
Watford is the largest town we cover on this side of the county, and it has every kind of housing in it. Victorian terraces near the centre, 1930s semis out towards Cassiobury and Nascot Wood, post-war estates at Garston and North Watford, and blocks of flats of every vintage in between. Five postcode districts, and no travel charge across any of them.
Traffic lanes are what we get called about most in a town this busy. A carpet does not wear evenly, it wears in a path, and that path dulls long before the colour goes anywhere else. The cause is grit rather than staining. Fine soil sits in the base of the pile and cuts the fibre every time somebody stands on it, so taking it out on a cycle is what makes a carpet last.
A large share of the housing here is rented, and changeovers work differently from an ordinary booking. There is a fixed date, a carpet that has to match what the inventory says about it, and somebody who will come and inspect it. We work to the date rather than to our own convenience, clean edge to edge instead of down the middle, and leave a dated receipt.

Watford questions
The things people in Watford ask us most often.
Which Watford postcodes do you actually cover?
All of them - WD17, WD18, WD19, WD24 and WD25 - so the town centre, Cassiobury, Nascot Wood, Holywell, North Watford, Garston, Leavesden, Oxhey and Carpenders Park. There is no travel charge in any of it.
Will having it cleaned get my deposit back?
It removes the argument about the carpet, which is often what the dispute comes down to. We work to your changeover date and leave a dated receipt for the inventory. What we cannot do is undo burns, bleach marks or genuine wear.
Why does the middle of the room look worn when the edges look new?
Because the edges are barely walked on. What you are seeing is grit ground into the pile along the path people take, not colour loss. Extraction lifts it out, and a traffic lane usually comes up several shades.
Do you invoice landlords or letting agents directly?
Yes, that is normal for us. We can bill the agent or the landlord, work around a tenant moving out and confirm the date in advance. Prices are the same as for anybody else - a hall, stairs and landing is £75.
