Cleaning carpets in Ripon
Ripon is one of the smallest cities in England and it wears it well — the cathedral, the market square, the hornblower still setting the watch at nine every night. The housing round the centre and along Bondgate is largely Georgian and Victorian, with the newer estates spreading out beyond.
Period houses bring period problems: tall rooms, long halls, staircases with turns and winders, and often a good wool carpet or an antique rug that deserves careful handling. We test before we start and match the method to the fibre.
The villages around — Sharow, Bishop Monkton, Littlethorpe, North Stainley, Markington — are all inside our area, and so is the Fountains Abbey side of the city. No travel surcharge for any of it.

Ripon questions
The things people in Ripon ask us most often.
Do you clean antique and hand-made rugs in Ripon?
We clean a lot of rugs here and we treat the older ones with real care. Hand-made and antique rugs can have unstable dyes and delicate fringes, so we test a hidden area first and control the moisture closely. If we think a particular rug carries too much risk for an in-home clean, we will tell you rather than gamble with it.
Can you clean a staircase with winders and turns?
Yes. Winders and turns just take a little longer — the hand tool is small and we work methodically from the top down. Stairs are £35 whether they are straight or not.
Which villages near Ripon do you cover?
Sharow, Bishop Monkton, Littlethorpe, North Stainley, Kirkby Malzeard, Markington, Wath, Galphay and Studley Roger, at standard prices with no travel charge.
Do you clean mattresses?
Yes, from £25. It is a popular add-on because it takes very little extra time while we are already in the house, and it deals with dust, perspiration and the general staleness that builds up in a mattress over the years.
